Metro’s plan includes increasing access to opportunity with a joint development at Mariachi Plaza Station on the L Line (Gold). In partnership with East LA Community Corporation, this project is slated to include 60 affordable housing apartments in proximity to transit; retail space; a community garden; and the Mariachi Cultural Center.

Status

After studying the site and engaging the nearby community, Metro finalized development guidelines for this site in 2017, which were used to procure a developer. In 2018, the Metro Board of Directors approved an Exclusive Negotiation Agreement (ENA) with East LA Community Corporation for joint development of this site. Currently, the proposed project is being refined as it advances through the development process.
