Arts District / 6th St Station
Expanding Metro Rail B and D Line service to serve more communities

Metro is evaluating a potential new station near the 6th Street Viaduct to extend B and D Line rail service into the Arts District. The project would improve access for residents, workers and visitors in the Arts District, Boyle Heights and nearby neighborhoods. If approved and funded, the new station would support local growth and relieve congestion at nearby stations. The location—next to the Division 20 Rail Yard—poses challenges due to space limits and rail operations so Metro is coordinating with the City of LA and local stakeholders to study feasibility. The project is currently in environmental review (EIS/EIR), and community input will guide the development of design options and future decisions.
