Overview
Metro’s plan for less congestion includes improving areas of chronic traffic congestion on the I-605 Freeway and SR-91 for a safer and easier drive. As part of this program of improvements, projects focus on the long-term needs of the I-605 corridor and short-term needs of the I-605 and SR-91 that can be completed within the next three to five years.
Status
Projects as part of this program are in various stages. Metro and Caltrans, in collaboration with Gateway Cities Council of Governments and San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments, are proposing the I-605 Early Action Projects, I-605 Beverly Interchange Improvements Project, SR-91 Atlantic Avenue to Cherry Avenue Auxilary Lane Improvement Project, SR-91 Central Avenue to Acacia Court Improvement Project , Westbound SR-91 Improvements Project and the I-605 South Street Off-Ramp Improvement Project. The I-605 Corridor Improvements Project seeks to improve conditions on the stretch between the I-105 and I-10 freeways.
