Section 1 adds three new underground stations: Wilshire/La Brea, Wilshire/Fairfax, and Wilshire/La Cienega. These connections enhance access to Miracle Mile destinations and reduce congestion on one of LA’s busiest corridors. When complete, riders can travel from Westwood to Union Station in under 30 minutes.

What is the D Line Extension – Section 1?

The first segment of Metro’s D Line extension, adding three stations at Wilshire/La Brea, Wilshire/Fairfax, and Wilshire/La Cienega.

When will Section 1 open?

Section 1 is expected to open by late 2025.

Why is the D Line closed this summer?

To connect new systems to existing tunnels, service between Wilshire/Western and Union Station is closed from May 17 to July 25, 2025.

What features are included in the new stations?

Each station offers improved access with escalators, elevators, and public art, designed to enhance the rider experience.
