Creating more connections for major job hubs and destinations on one of LA’s most traveled corridors.

Current Phase
Construction
Estimated Project Completion
2025 - 2027
The D Line Subway Extension is a major expansion of Metro’s rail network and the existing D Line to provide a fast, reliable connection between Downtown Los Angeles and the Westside. The project adds seven new stations along Wilshire Bl, one of our region’s busiest, congested corridors improving access to jobs, education, healthcare and the things that matter most to Angelenos

The existing portion of the D Line connects Downtown LA and Koreatown with stations at Union Station, Civic Center/Grand Park, Pershing Square, 7th St/Metro Center, Westlake/Macarthur Park, Wilshire/Vermont, Wilshire/Normandie and Wilshire/Western.

Construction for the extension is underway in three sections:

  • Section 1: Wilshire/La Brea, Wilshire/Fairfax and Wilshire/La Cienega (opening in 2025)
  • Section 2: Beverly Dr and Century City (opening in 2026)
  • Section 3: Westwood/UCLA and Westwood/VA Hospital (opening in 2027)
