Bike to Work Day Lunch Ride in Chinatown presented by BEST

May 19, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Celebrate National Bike to Work Day with a short, fun-filled lunch hour bike ride.

About this event

**REGISTRATIONS WILL BE CAPPED AT 50 PARTICIPANTS TO ENSURE COMFORT AND SAFETY FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS**

Are you a bike commuter? Do you work from home and want to get out for a bike ride? The Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition and Metro Bike Share invite you to celebrate National Bike to Work Day with a short, fun-filled lunch hour bike ride sponsored by Metro’s Bicycle Education Safety Training (BEST) Program. Join us at Union Station where we’ll ride along to Chinatown and the LA State Historic Park, where we’ll enjoy a tasty fresh lunch from a local business (TBD). Don’t have a bike? Metro Bike Share is providing free rides to all participants. This will be a great opportunity to connect with other bike commuters in your area, discover new routes, and support local businesses! So, whether you are working in an office or finishing up a call from the comfort of your home, we invite you to grab your bike and ride out for a quick bite!

Pre-registration and attendance confirmation is required for all participants. Once you are registered, we will send you a waiver and location information to confirm your attendance. If you are attending with other family members, each person must be registered separately in order to attend. Register now to guarantee your spot!

If you need to use a bike, Metro Bike Share will be making a limited number of bikes available to use for this event at no cost to the user. If you are interested in trying Bike Share, please reserve an “I need to borrow a bike” ticket when you register. All attendees who join this ride will also receive a code for a FREE 30-Day Metro Bike Share Pass redeemable at any time. You can redeem this code online at metro.net/bikeshare or in the Metro Bike Share app.

We will be observing strict protocols during the ride to ensure safety and comfort for all participants and instructors. All instruction will be conducted outdoors to maximize physical distancing. We understand that official mask mandates and guidance has changed recently, but as this is an event hosted by Metro’s community partners, we ask that you help to make it as safe as possible by wearing a mask. Please keep in mind the following rules while attending this event:

  • You must confirm your attendance in advance of class so we know to expect you and hold your spot. Every attendee must sign-in and complete a waiver.
  • If you are feeling sick or unwell, please stay home. There are many virtual class and self-guided ride options still available.
  • Even if you are fully vaccinated, please wear a mask or face covering at all times, even while outdoors, when you are not actively eating or drinking.
  • Staff and instructors reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who does not follow these protocols (e.g., arrives without prior registration, does not complete waiver, refuses to wear a mask).
